About KoT

Late in 1996 {KoT} was formed in anticipation of Diablo’s release… we heard of this town called Tristram, little did we know how much of a focus Tristram would become in the Diablo series. The leadership of {KoT} has migrated through many games including First Person Shooters, Real-Time Strategy, and MMO’s. In preparation for the impending Diablo III (Diablo 3 for SEO) release the original founder of {KoT} has decided it was time for its return.

One of the things that {KoT} leadership has learned over time is that the larger the community of players the better experience; however, there needs to be a focus on that close ‘knit’ feeling that you get from smaller guilds while doing our best to avoid clicks. How this is actually done will depend a lot on the details of D3, but we know we will be successful. While our original Diablo clan was focused on hard core gamers, we have realized over time that we need to focus on both hard core gamers and casual gamers. This allows for transition between both, and facilitates permanent membership that we are moving towards with {KoT}. Our hope is to create a community that younger players can stay with for many years to come, regardless of their level of activity, while having a place for the folks who are active on what I would call a ‘hard-core’ level.

Politics and Drama isn’t tolerated at {KoT} and it never has been. The leadership team is expected to be active, if they aren’t active – and have no excuse – they will be replaced. {KoT} will be looking for a fresh leadership squad, that will be thoroughly vetted, a process that will begin a few months prior to beta’s release.
